Women in the Military

Women are allowed to participate in the military, however in the United States they are currently not allowed to participate in combat. My name is Donovan Savage and throughout my blogs I will be talking about women in the military. Although, women can't serve in combat in the United States in combat in certain countries they are allowed to such as, Australia and Sweden. However, the United States Navy Seal does plan to involve women in 2015 and 2016 in combat, but the United States Marine Corps don't plan to soon. I believe women should be allowed to participate in combat. It goes to show that we still put a huge emphasis on gender in this society, instead of being focus on us as individuals.

  1. I do agree with your statement saying, "We still put a huge emphasis on gender in this society, instead of being focus on us as individuals". I do think we should all be treated as individuals. Women should be able to fight if they want. I think they do a great job of serving our country now, but if they want to do more and fight then should have the right too. It is good that Australia and Sweden have given women the right to do what they want. We should all have to right to combat if we want no matter of your man or female. I cant wait to see what else you have to say bout this topic. Great introduction.

  2. This is a very interesting topic. Who's to say a women cant get the job done just as well as male can? How is it fair to force men to sign up when they turn 18, but women who want to fight don't get a choice. This is an example gender frames. Women should be able to receive the same opportunities as males as far as roles in the army. Want to see more on your topic.
